Terms of service
Who may use this service, what it does, and what it does not promise.

Who operates OneSnappi
OneSnappi is operated by OneSnappi LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. Using this service means accepting these terms.
Who may create an account
An account needs a code issued by a participating school. Counselors sign up with the school’s admin code and must be staff that school has authorised. Students sign up with the school’s join code and must attend that school.
A code keeps people who are not at the school from wandering in. It is not a security boundary and it is not a substitute for the school’s own judgment about who should have an account.
Accounts are for high school students and staff. A student must be at least 13.
Accounts belong to a school
The first counselor to use a school’s admin code becomes active immediately. Every counselor after that waits for an existing active counselor to approve them. Any active counselor can approve, revoke or remove any account at that school, including another counselor’s.
There is no seniority and no owner role. The school controls access to its own data, not us.
We do not select or endorse scholarships
Every scholarship in this service was entered by a counselor at the school: its name, its deadline, its award amount, what it requires, and who it is for. We do not choose them, check them against the provider, or verify that any of it is accurate.
Eligibility results come from comparing what a counselor stored against what a student entered. A wrong criterion produces a wrong result. Students can see and open every scholarship at their school regardless of what those results say.
What the AI does, and what it does not decide
When a counselor pastes an eligibility paragraph, it is sent to a language model which proposes a list of criteria. Nothing is saved until the counselor reviews and confirms it. The model is wrong in known ways, particularly in reading a preference as a requirement.
No eligibility decision is made by a model when a student looks at a scholarship. That comparison is ordinary code running against what was already confirmed.
Your work stays yours
Essays a student writes, and everything a student enters about themselves, remain the student’s own work and property. We claim no ownership of any of it.
We need permission only to store it, show it to the people described in the privacy policy, and put it into the application document the student asks us to generate. That permission covers nothing else and ends when the information is deleted.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Try to reach another student’s information
- Share a school code with anyone outside the school
- Upload work or documents that are not yours
- Probe, scan or interfere with the service
We may suspend an account for any of these. A school may remove one for any reason of its own.
What the school is responsible for
The school decides who gets an account, what its scholarships require, and which optional profile fields appear on a generated application. It is also responsible for its own obligations to its students and their families, which this service does not discharge.
Availability
There is no uptime commitment and no support commitment. The service may be unavailable, and work may be interrupted.
There are no backups. The production database runs on a plan with none configured. If it were lost, the information in it would be lost. Anyone relying on an application near a deadline should keep their own copy of the document they generate.
Ending an account
A counselor at the school can remove a student account, which deletes the profile, essays, applications and uploaded transcripts. A student cannot delete their own account. A student can delete their own uploaded transcripts, which is a different thing and is described in the privacy policy.
If we stop offering this service, we will tell the schools using it. We have not set how much notice that would be, so none is promised here.
No warranty
This service is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be available, that eligibility results are correct, that a generated document will be accepted by any committee, or that any student will receive an award.
Limits on liability
This is not yet determined.
What we would and would not be responsible for has not been settled, so nothing is claimed here. A section written without advice would be worse than an absent one, because it would look decided.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey.
Changes to these terms
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no notification when that happens, and no archive of previous versions.
